Facebook Gets VoIP Via Skype

Looks like VoIP really is coming to Facebook after all! They just teamed up with Skype to integrate some of Facebook’s features into the next version of Skype’s software. This partnership allows Facebook users to log into their Skype accounts via Facebook Connect. Once they’re logged in, they can send text messages, go on voice chats, and do video chats with Facebook friends through Skype. This new feature is expected to appear in Skype’s upcoming 5.0 version, which is due for beta testing sometime next week. Hopefully, this partnership will also mean in-browser voice and video chatting to the Facebook website.
