Panasonic Skype Phone

Japan will be getting their first Skype phone from Panasonic at the end of the month. The KX-WP800 comes with a 1.8-inch TFT LCD and can be used to make voice calls through Skype without having to hook it up to a PC. This is done through the WLAN router that comes with the handset. The KX-WP800 can also be used on any of Japan’s 32,000 FON access points since it supports the FON WLAN sharing service. Other features include 55 hours of standby time and 4.5 hours of talk time. Unfortunately, the KX-WP800 also comes with a heavy price tag of $290, which is a little too expensive considering that a lot of households with a wireless network will already have a wireless router.
