Mossberg Says He Doesn’t Know When the New iPhone Will Be Out
Remember Wall Street gadget reviewer Walt Mossberg’s prediction about the 3G iPhone’s release in June? Turns out everyone on the Internet may have gotten too excited over nothing. According to Mossberg, he doesn’t have any ideal when Apple will be releasing the new iPhone. Though there is a video clip of Mossberg at the April 1 event at the Finnish Embassy at Washington saying that the iPhone may be out in 60 days, turns out he’s just speculating like the rest of us. In Alley Insider’s interview with Mossberg, he said that he doesn’t know if his speculation is correct and that as a gadget reviewer, the release date of the 3G iPhone doesn’t matter to him. He also added that if he did know when the iPhone would be out, he’d write an article about it on the Wall Street Journal instead of announcing it offhandedly. (Yep, he’s got a point there.)
Still, this isn’t keeping people from expecting the iPhone to be out sometime mid-2008.
