Skype Video Cards make great online holiday greetings

Skype has to be the most invaluable method of communication this holiday season for those who have family and friends living abroad. As you already know, their voice calling and video calling services are completely free as long as they’re Skype-to-Skype calls; you can also call your loved ones’ mobile phones using Skype credits for lower rates than regular long-distance calls.
This year, Skype came out with a new feature to make your holiday greetings more special: a video e-card creation tool called Video Cards with Skype. It’s a no-download, flash-based web toy that allows users to make a video of your holiday greetings and e-mail it to your friends and family. Facebook users can also embed video cards to their friends’ Facebook walls or use the Video Cards with Skype Facebook app. What’s amazing about the video cards idea is that this is the first Skype app that operates independently from the main Skype client. Wouldn’t it be completely awesome if they made a Flash-based, no-download VoIP app as well?
