VoIP Calls are Not Secure
Experts warn that mobile phones and VoIP calls might not be as secure as we think. In a security conference that was held this week, studies showed that mobile phones using GSM technology and most VoIP systems have flawed security systems that make it easy for a someone to hack into your account, listen to your calls, and track your location through your mobile phone. For only $900, anyone can get the equipment and software to make a fake network device and follow the traffic going across that network, as well as all cellphones connected to the base station.
Some of the problems people face when using VoIP services and mobile phones are eavesdropping, interrupted calls, stalking, and fake voice messages. Of course, all phone lines are tappable to some degree. Just remember to avoid holding top secret conversations over a digital carrier network and meet up somewhere in person instead.
