VoIP Will Kill Traditional Telephony
According to Grant Thornton, an expert business and finance analyst, VoIP services is a sector that will continue to grow rapidly and eventually pose a serious threat to traditional telephony within the span of a few years. Based on the four-fold increase in VoIP subscriptions during the past two years, Thornton predicts that the VoIP industry will gain over $25 billion in revenue in 2010. The biggest change we will probably see this year is investment by large telecommunication companies in retaining VoIP software developers, who will assist them and include VoIP among their services. There still remains a few serious concerns, including the issue of security within their systems and issues of connectivity and power. But despite these bugs, VoIP today gives users flexibility and allows them to save billions.
