Nintendo Wii to get a VoIP Handset

The details are still fairly sketchy at this point but if there is any truth to the rumors going around online, then yes – Nintendo will be launching an internet phone accessory called the Wii Chatter for (what else?) the Wii. According to the source, the Wii Chatter is basically a Wii Nunchuk with a built-in microphone and receiver. The user holds the Nunchuk to his or her head like a phone, while the number is dialed through an on-screen menu using the Wii Remote. It will pretty much work like the Sony PSP Go Messenger, where gamers can chat with other gamers around the world. However, Nintendo takes this service a step further because users can dial out to any number around the world, just like an actual VoIP phone.
Expect the Wii Chatter to be available late this year.
