At the recent Globe-Innove Sponsored Bloggers Meet, Globequest sent out flyers on their latest VoIP Softphone service for only 2.80 pesos a minute (VAT included at 56 pesos to 1 dollar exchange rate. Standard VoIP rates is $0.05 /minute)

The flyer shows these information

1. What is the Globelines Broadband VoIP Softphone service?
The Globelines Broadband VoIP softphone service is a postpaid reloadable Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) account wherein subscribers can make voice calls through their Globelines Broadband connection.

2. What do I need to access VoIP?

If you are already a Globelines Broadband subscriber, make sure your PC has a sound card installed. You will also need a headset with microphone for the best call experience.

To access the service and download the softphoe, installation procedures and user guid, visit http://www.globelines.com.ph/voip

3. How do I get my username and password?
The VoIP username is the same as the Globelines Broadband account number.

4. I have everything I need. How do I start calling?
Once your softphone is installed, you need to purchase calling credits in the form of minutes in increments of 100 pesos through our sales channels or our 24 hour customer care hotline. All purchases shall be reflected in your Globelines bill at the end of each billing cycle.

Globelines Broadband packages cost

Express Unlimited 995 pesos a month at 512 kbps speed
Explore Silver at 1995 pesos a month at 768 kbps speed
Explore Gold at 2995 pesos a month at 2MBps speed

I wonder if their promo of a personal computer for ony 500 pesos a month is extended beyond August 16,2006.

Globelines Broadband is a scam!!! Letting us customers experience their 7-day trial period of real broadband speed then they will tie us in their 1yr bond then after that the HELL ON EARTH of internet begins.

I am experiencing problems with globelines broadband… I subscribed to their 512kbps wireless broadband package with wireless phone (PHP1295/mo.)… they gave me 7 days trial period and within that trial period I was amazed with the speed… pumapalo from 700+ kbps to 1+ mb… kaya pina-activate ko kaagad. Pero eto na ang kalbaryo… right after the 7-day trial period nagsimula nang maging intermitent ang connection speed nila either super bagal (I even got 5bps or lower!!!) o totally walang connection. Lagi ako nagrereklamo sa CS nila pero wala naman sila ginawa kundi palitan yung modem na wala naman nagbago ganon pa din naman problema. My work is related to IT and I know that there is no problem at my side (hardware, softwares, cabling, etc…). Kakainis na talaga ang service ng globelines… feeling ko naloko lang ako kase nakatali ako ngayon sa kanila for 1yr dahil sa 1yr bond na kasama sa package.
